| The activity of Content management broadly includes five activities, collection, creation, storage, display and distribution. While some of these activities are better handled by treating content as a commodity, others should be approached with a totally contradicting perspective... that content is the message and not wheat flakes! Typically, in large-scale content-based business operations, these 5 activities are operationally distributed across different individuals or departments. In reality, there are almost no situations where all departments would unanimously term 'content' as either a commodity or a non-commodity. |
